W. Alan Kenson, AIA

Mr. Kenson, born and raised in Prescott, Arizona, has practiced architecture and supervised construction in Arizona for more than 30 years. He received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design degree in 1985 from Arizona State University and was a partner with the architectural firm, Gerald A. Doyle & Associates, located in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1991 Mr. Kenson returned to the family firm, Kenson Construction Company, and has remained the Vice President assisting with daily activities. In 2002, Mr. Kenson created the architectural firm, W. Alan Kenson & Associates, P.C. serving as the Principal Architect designing and providing a full-scope of architectural and planning services for new construction. Alan is a talented building Designer and has completed numerous private and public projects throughout Arizona.

Mr. Kenson has specialized experience in the design of buildings utilizing pre-engineered building components and conventional building materials. Alan is proficient in evaluating the work of various building trades and in solving field problems. He is familiar with virtually all out-of-date and contemporary construction materials and techniques found in Arizona and is experienced in assessing existing building construction. Alan is also knowledgeable of building codes and regulations, thus assuring that the completed construction will satisfy all code requirements.

Mr. Kenson also provides architectural expert witness and construction consulting services on matters such as construction defect litigation, personal injury claims and other construction-related disputes. These services cover the entire spectrum required by clients seeking to resolve disputes and litigation involving architecture and construction. These services include architectural research, on-site investigation, causation analyses, construction document review and interpretation, building code research and interpretation and federal / state disabled access code and statute research. His experience ranges from residential projects (single-family homes to multi-unit projects) to commercial, industrial, religious, institutional developments and government structures.

Community is very important to Mr. Kenson, as shown through his volunteer activities. He is currently on the Sharlot Hall Building Committee and was a past Board Member. He won consecutive Prescott Valley Community Improvement awards in 2007 and 2008, and has received seven consectutive President's Volunteer Service awards.
